Scanning to Outlook

When scanning from my Brother printer to Outlook, the scanned image shows up
on the email sheet but the image will not open. It is blank. I have to scan
to the desktop and then insert the image into Outlook email. This proceedure
did work before but some update has caused the problem.
How do I correct this? I have updated my Brother software.

What does your event viewer tell you? Any errors relating to Outlook or
Microsoft Office?
 
There is no error message. The scanned object is shown in the email header
but it is void of any image when I try to open it.
