ScanGear will not scan film

Hello -- I use the Canon 8400F with Win XP Pro. Today I scanned several
sets of transparencies. Then suddenly the "film" options in ScanGear
(under Select Source) disappeared. I didn't do anything unusual between
scans.

Anyone seen this behavior with the Canon products? Can anyone help with
a solution? I would really appreciate it.

Hot damn, found the answer, after hours and hours of searching. Unplug
and replug in the cable between the scanner body and the scanner lid.

Now *why* couldn't that be on the Canon website?
