I received an error message that outlook.pst was broken and I needed to run
Scanpst.exe. When I try to run that I get another error message that says I
need to run ScanDisk first. Where do I find Scandisk? I have Windows XP and
Office 2003 Professional.

Scandisk is a utility that Windows provides which you can use to scan your
hard disk for errors caused by improper shut-downs, viruses, and other
problems.

Using scandisk to scan and correct errors to your Windows computer can fix
damage caused to critical Windows files, improving system performance in the
process.

To run scandisk, click on start > run. Type in: sfc /scannow <enter>

Windows your scan your disk for any problems in your system files. If any
errors are found, follow the instructions on the screen.

Note that scandisk has nothing to do with Outlook. You can Google scandisk
or ask in a Windows XP newsgroup.

That's not scandisk, that's a system file repair utility. Scandisk was a
Win98 utility that is replaced in XP by chkdsk......

Are you sure?
Scandisk is / was a disk checking utility introduced in msdos, and featured
in win9*, it was replaced in winnt and later by chkdsk

scannow is the system file checker utiity that checks the integrity of
certain win sys files

Scanpst does not know on which Windows version it is running. It may
also be an old version of Office, so scanpst may not know about CHKDSK
