Scandisk or Checkdisk

I am running XP, can not find or open either Scandisk or
Checkdisk.

Any idea where these two tools can be found or opened.

Any place to obtain a free download if these programs are
not in my computer.

Arnie, it should be located at MyComputer>rt click on Drive Icon>Select
Properties>Tools>Check Now.

XP has no Scandisk. The executable for the XP equivalent,
checkdisk, is spelled CHKDSK. You can run it by typing CHKDSK at
the Start | Run line.
