scan without installing norton 2004?

1) Is there a way to run a full virus scan in windows (2000/xp) using the
norton antivirus 2004 or norton internet security 2004 cd without having to
actually install the program?

2) If you can (number 1) Can you also somehow manually point it to updated
virus definitions?

3) If norton can't what software can? There has to be something that does.
I'm thinking of a repair shop environment where a tech needs to run a full
system scan w/ updated definitions but can't be expected to go through
installing and updating the whole package, scan, and then have to uninstall
the package. I need something to be part of my 'toolkit' that can be made
once... used and reused, just updating definitions monthly or so.

anyone? 1, 2, and/or 3?

If you don't want to install the software then goto the symantec web
site and run the virus scan from online.

If the link still works, goto:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=20&pkj=OXXTLGWSBZHYZIFKWOZ

There you can do both, an online virus scan and a security check.
