Scan Disk??

I am running windows XP. I remember with windows 98 (i think) that you were
able to run a "scan disc" if you were having troubles and it would
automatically fix the problems your computer was having. Does Windows XP have
this program? If so, where is it so I can run it? TIA

There are lots of good Tools on XP:
1-- System Restore to n earlier Date@
Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore.
2-- Disk Clean Up: by Double click " My Computer" and then right click your
Partition C:\ and select Properties from the drop down list.
On the Drive Properties click on General to access the Disk Clean.
* Click Tools Tab and you will find Error CHECKING ) this which Equal to
Scan Disk, Defragmentation , Back UP.
When you will Run the Error Checking it will ask you what option you want to
perform, Thorough checking and the system will automatically Repair error, so
check both boxes and click Yes to Run the Check Disk on Start Up and Reboot
your Machine, the Error checking will start to check and repair your System
for errors and bad clusters.
HTH.
