Scan Disk Results

I recently performed a Scan Disk operation through "My
Computer", by right clicking the hard drive, properties,
tools, and error-check. I clicked "automatically fix file
system errors" and the computer restarted to scan the
hard drive. It didn't display the results, since I
checked "auto fix", but now I am wondering if there is a
way to display these results, so I can see if there were
any errors on the disk that it corrected. Thanks.

Not really, but before you run, CHKDSK from my computer,
try start, run, type:cmd In cmd type:CHKDSK This is read only,
to run the repair utility type:CHKDSK /F

Scandisk has been retired. Use Error Checking (chkdsk.exe) in XP.

For a peek at the log.
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
Look in Application | Listed as Information
under Winlogon, Event 1001

The log is the same as you would see in bootex.log. Chkdsk.exe creates
bootex.log, info somehow copied to the Event Viewer and bootex.log deleted.

Wrong. For NT, Scandisk has yet to be born.
Use Error Checking (chkdsk.exe) in XP.

That's the only choice you have; like going back to DOS 5, you have to
trust a tool that can only:

1) Look but don't fix, which shows spurious errors in C:
2) Fix things automatically without prompting you first

Given (1), do you feel inclined to do (2)?
