Saving subforms to record for report

Hello I have a main Form X which has two subforms(Y's) under it
The Y's includes information that is to be included with Form X for that
record
i also have a button on X which brings up A report of X but this report
includes information from the Y's
When i click on the button the Report comes up fine but the Y's information
is missing untill i close the form and open it back up.
i was wondering what code to use and where to put it to save the information
to the tables Y's refering to so that the information will be on the report
thanks for the help if you need clarification let me know
