Saving settings

Some of my AntiSpyware settings won't save. For example, if I turn on
"Display the scan results window after a spyware scan", click "Save", close
AntiSpyware and then reopen it and check the setting, it is turned back off.
Same thing happens if I try to set up a scheduled spyware scan - after I save
and exit, all my settings related to scheduling are gone.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version, 1.0.701, and have
Spyware Definition Version 5781 installed. Any help would be appreciated.

If Andre's explanation doesn't fit, try this for a fix:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete \program files\microsoft antispyware and all subfolders. You will
lose access to any quarantined items, history, and custom settings.
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware, from your build .701 download, taking
care to be logged in as administrator.

Bill:

Thanks. That did the trick.

Great. One or more of the files in the installation folder which record
settings is apparently corrupted--or at least that's my sense of why this
fix works. It'd be nice to just find that file do this more easily, but
this fix is pretty easy to describe, and simple enough for most people to
accomplish safely.
