Saving Query as Word Document changes the look of data

When I saved a query in a document format, quotation marks appeared around
each field's data. Can I change the design somehow so that when it's
saved/printed in Word, these quotation marks are omitted? And how do I save
the query in Word format, not Wordpad?

I am less than a novice at Acess; please use layman's (i.e., really
simplistic) terms when answering, ;).

Thanks in advance.

Max,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "saved a query" in Word. Can you
describe what keystrokes or menu choices you used to do this? Are you using
Tools, OfficeLinks, Publish It With Word?

Sorry to not be clear on this.

I designed a query in Access, to give me just the Cities, States & Zip Codes
we serve. I then wanted to have it in a word processing format so that I can
manipulate the data and the appearance of the data (to make it easier to work
with when printed).

When I ran my query, and then clicked on File, I clicked on Export, I
clicked on Save as type, and then scrolled down to Microsoft Word Merge,
(*.txt). I gave it a filename and then clicked on Export All. I then was
able to view and access the same information from the query, but in Wordpad
format.

The text of each field, however, appeared with quotations around it, e.g.,
Mt. Henry appears as "Mt. Henry" and 33333 appears as "33333".

My 2 questions are how do I remove the quotations, and how do I put it in
Word format, not Wordpad?

Sorry about that, and thanks again.

Max,

If you wish to use the query directly for a mail merge, MS Word supports an
Access query or table as a data source. If you simply wish to get the data
into a Word document, select Text rather than MS Word Merge at the Export
step, choose Deliminted, and change the Text Qualifier to None.

Hope that helps.
