saving problems

Working with FP2000, WinXPHome, on www.HistoricHomeWorks.com.

Normally edited pages save within a few seconds, and update hyperlinks takes
2-3 minutes. But now....

After editing an existing page and saving I get the following error message
and after 3-5 minutes the file is saved to the server (I can see the changes
when I look at the page with IExplorer), then FP gets stuck in a loop with
the following error message and shunting me back to the file save dialog
window.

Server Error: cannot close file "index.htm.tmp"
***

When I use Tools>Recalculate Hpyerlinks... I get the following error
message:

The server sent a reslponse which FrontPage could not parse. If you are
trying to connect to a FrontPage server, check with the server's
adminstrator to make sure the FrontPage server extensions are installed
properly.
***

My server technician says "your frontpage extensions are verifying ok
status"

Please advise on how to get this fixed.

You ISP, then need to check the permissions on your account.

What should they be checking for?

What should they find if saving is working normally?

How can permissions get thrown off?

In the future please do not trim any replies, as I can only guess what you
originally posted and other will have no clue what the thread is about.

The host need to check that your account has full authoring permissions. As
for how permission get messed, if they were not set up correctly to begin
with, the host updated something, etc.
