The above also applies to Internet Explorer and other applications that use
the Protected Storage System Provider registry key to store passwords.
Also, click Start, Run and enter SERVICES.MSC Locate the Protected Storage
System Provider service and double click it. Make sure its set to Automatic
and Started.
Dear Leighton, there is no way your bank is going to open a security hole
like that, since they would be liable for the losses. What if some ne'er do
well logged on to a computer with bank account auto-complete passwords? Can
you see why it will be necessary for you to keep your password on your own?
I have mine written on a piece of tape on my keyboard. Stupid, perhaps, but
it is my problem, not the bank's.
It is a major security risk to save passwords on your
computer NEVER save your banking info instead write these
passwords on a piece of paper and keep it by your computer
unless you want your checking account cleaned out one day.
