Saving Moviemaker files to burn to DVD

How do I save my Moviemaker files so that I can burn them on to DVD? The
software I am trying tu use (DVD Creator) does not like the movie maker
format.

I heard that MPEG is higher quality then .AVI,so I would like to convert to
that format, and put on DVD.

Also, what is the best general DVD buring software?

Save as DV AVI and convert to MPEG2 format using TMPGenc or may be your DVD
authorign software would do it for you.

Sorry to say but this is completely wrong. MPEG2 format can be better or
worse quality than AVI. However most of the times it is worse. The
comparison is invalid unless qualified further. It depends what encoding and
bitrate is used to make the files. MPEG2 format is similar to JPEG which
uses a lossy compression algorithm to compress data. AVI can have many
different type of compressions which can be lossy as well as a lossless.
Lossless compression would ensure to "maintain" the input quality. But
converting from one format to another can never "increase" the quality.
"Junk in junk out" always apply.

See this site http://www.marcpeters.co.uk/free-dvd-creation.html. It certainly helped me create my DVD. from AVI files created in MMV. Hal
