Saving Macros

I have a front end mde / back end mde application that is reguarly updated
with new copies of the front end (and therefore losing any data that is saved
in that front end. Is it possible to be able to allow end users in the front
end mde to set up and run macros (of there choosing) and save the macro to a
third database (that will never be updated).

Hi Gina

Well lets say the user has version 1 of the front end and develops a macro -
my understanding is that it will be saved in the front end. Then when I
deliver version 2 to the end user the macro will not be in version 2. What i
am after is some way to save the macro in a place other than in the front end.

Ah. So the user isn't losing *data* they're losing *program* (their macro).

The only way I can think of is to give the user a code library database and
teach them how to create macros in it. Not too hard but not trivial.

I'm not sure what a code library database is - can you either elaborate or
point me to a web site with some info?
