Saving Data From Other Table

I must be missing something or I'm not expressing my intentions properly.
I posted a question (Linking Data) In the .forms newsgroup.
Example: I have 2 tables: tblReminders and tblContacts. I want to be able
to SAVE contact information into an appointment, say a dental appointment.
The example(s) I got doesn't save the Contact info in the appointment
record.
It simply displays it and when I go to another record or close the form the
Contacts info is lost. I've even tried creating a new filed in tblReminders
called ContactPhone. When the Contact information is displayed in a
combo box based on tblContacts I copy the Phone Number to the clipboard
and paste it into the new field and it still does not get saved.

Any help will be appreciated,
James

James,

Rick put in a lot of time to help you in mpa.forms. If you don't like the
answer he provided, or you feel he failed to understand the problem, say so
in that thread. He won't be offended by it. Rick is a very knowledgable
person, and he has access to resources that you don't, so if he feels unable
to resolve the issue, he can call on those resources to arrive at a suitable
solution.

I feel it is inappropriate for you to have abandoned that thread, only to
start another one in another group.

It wasn't so much of abandoning the thread as it was starting
a new one. And believe me if it weren't for the MVPs and others
in these groups I probably wouldn't know anything about database
design.

After I didn't post for a couple of days to Rick's thread I decided
to start a new one. Also, in no way does this imply that I didn't
like the answer Rick gave me. I wasn't sure if I asked the question
properly. Anyone who goes out of there way, probably in their
spare time, to help others with db management is ok in my book.

Sorry if there was any misunderstanding.

James
