Saving Customized Slide Layouts with Template?

Greetings,

I am creating templates for which there are specific regions of the screen
that I want to designate as Title, Content, etc. -- much like the way that
PowerPoint does with different slide layouts, but in a very generic way.

Is there any way that I can save this information with the POT file, so that
all the user has to do is assign the template to the PPT and all of these
custom regions will be already defined?

Clarification -- I want to potentially have SEVERAL different slide layouts
per template, and they might all have different regions depending on the
content that is on the slide.

I hope that makes sense....
