Saving custom colors?

Jimbo

1. Right click the desktop to bring up Display Properties dialog box

2. Select the "Appearance" tab

3. Click the "Advanced" button

4. If not already selected, click on the drop down menu and select
"Active Title Bar".

5. Click on the the drop down menu for Color 1

6. Click on the "Other" button

7. Left click on anywhere in the large color spectrum box to the right.

8. Click the "Add to Custom Colors" button.

9. Click "OK" 3 times to exit

10. Repeat steps 1 through 6

The Custom Color that you had just added to Custom Colors is not there.

This has been commented on as far back as 1998, but it seems that MS
just can't bothered to address this annoying deficiency.

Shouldn't 9. read - Click OK 2 times, then Click APPLY, then Click OK
final time ?

No. Clicking Apply will apply the effect and leave the window open.
Just clicking OK applies the effect and closes the window. The effect
is applied either way.

Clicking APPLY and Clicking OK amount to the same thing in this case as
far as saving all changes made so far. Clicking OK goes a step further
and closes the dialog box.

It's a rare person who understands the difference between Apply and OK.
Congratulations!

LOL, thanks. The problem is, I'm getting so old and forgetful, I don't
know how much longer I'll remember that. :)
