saving changes to contacts

In Outlook 2003 I can't save changes to contacts - phone numbers, notes etc.
I change them, click on 'save and close' and when I go into the contact again
the changes haven't saved.

Glad to know that I am not the only one! No didn't receive any replies
except yours. My IT guy is looking into it but so far hasn't come up with
anything. He says it is bizarre! The only fix I have come up with is to
delete the contact and re enter it but with over 1,000 contacts that is
something I would rather not do.
