saving attributes in Tools/Options

Can anyone help:

I have changed attributes in Tools/Options and then closed Exce
(version 2002).

When I open Excel again, these options are NOT remembered by Excel.

Namely, I have changed Tools/Options/Calculation -> Manual


What is wrong?
How should I fix it?

Curious,

The calculation mode is set by the first workbook that is opened - usually
Book.xlt, from your xlstart folder. Open up that template, change the
calculation mode, then resave it (still as a template). You should also
check the calculation mode of your Personal.xls workbook.
