Saving 2000 files in 97 format

I am working with Excel 2000 and need to save the files
in 97 format. When I try to save a file I get a message
about installing something and then an error message with
a 2709 Internal error.

Can anyone help. The sheets have code in the back and I
would hate to have to recrate them just for Excel 97.

Why do you need to save in Excel 97 format?? I have Excel 97 at home, and
Excel 2002 at work, and Excel 97 opens all of my Excel 2002 files with no
problem. It may be that you do not need to do this - might try and see if
your Excel 2000 stuff works fine in Excel 97 "as is"...
