Sorry, but that MFD is no longer supported by Savin (they have drivers for
3.1/95/98/98SE/ME and NT3.5 and NT4 - none of which can be installed in an
XP environment). If there isn't a driver on the XP CD (and I've just checked
and there doesn't appear to be - there's one for the 9918DP and 9922DP, but
not the 9920DP) then your chances of a successful installation lie between
none and not a hope in Hades. I'm afraid that technology moves on apace and,
if that model was new when 3.1 was in vogue, then we're talking about 12
years old. Manufacturers can only support their products for so long, and
they have to draw the line somewhere. It works in reverse, too; I am
thinking of purchasing a new Canon, but the only OSes Canon now supports are
98/2000/Me/XP - all support for 3.1 and 95 has ceased a) because MS stopped
supporting them a long time ago and b) because the printer connects via
USB - and neither 95 or 3.1 supported USB (OK, 95C purported to, but it was
only ever available OEM and the support was dodgy at best).

I'm afraid the time has come to retire your old faithful and enter the 21st
century! ;o)

debi,

I just got through installing our savin 9920 copier to the computer wa
celebrating and stumbled across your question. YES you can hook it u
in winxp!! But don't install or look for savin 9920dp. Install it a
RICOH AFICIO 200/250 PCL. It's the same machine, but labeled by RICOH
Go for it. In fact it should be in the winxp os CD. If not let m
know, I got the driver.
This machine still rocks!!! 21st century or not!!
