I know that XP stores all passwords some where in the registry but where? I
would like to save them, as I really need to do a reformat ( for some
strange reason my cd-rw isn't recognized! It was working okay, then all of a
sudden it just stopped recognizing it.). TIA!

Hi Barbara,

Most of all of the passwords are encrypted and/or use Vcard, so it depends
which you are speaking of. Dial-up's, etc are in plain text.

As for your CD-Rom, see if this helps:

Save the file below to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and
double click the file. A confirmation dialog will appear when the script is
done. You may need to reboot for the change to take effect.

The passwords I want to save are the ones for websites, etc, along with
email pws. Will try your suggestion and will get back to you if it works.
[keeping my fingers crossed!].
Thanks Kelly! You guys are great, no matter what the other bozo's think.

Get a steno pad. Write down all your user names and passwords in it. Use
your scanner/copier to make a copy. File it in two different places in
your home.

[optional] Tell your wife, husband, kids where they are kept.

Your hard drive may crash at any time with NO warning whatsoever, even
tho it was working perfectly the day before.

Most welcome and thanks! :o)
