Saved movie isn't saved

I have several movies I have created, put in all the photos, inserted the
transitions, created the title pages, inserted the audio and completed
everything except adding one or two extra photos. I clicked on "save project
as".... and saved it. But when I open the project again to add the extra
photos I didn't have handy when I developed the movie, I find all my photos
are gone. All replaced by large red X's. The title pages are there, the
transitions are there, the audio is there but almost but not quite all photos
are gone.

What is happening and what is causing this? A 12 minute movie should not be
that large that it wouldn't save properly.
Somebody please help me. Please?

OK...if you went to...Save Project As....
you did not save the *movie*...you saved
the project. That would be a file with the
..mswmm extension. (at the end of this
message I'll post the steps for saving
as a .wmv or .avi movie file)

When you re-open a .mswmm project file
and see Red Xs...that means the links to
the source files have been broken either
by moving or deleting them.

If you right click the Red Xs...you can
*Browse* to the current location of the
source files and Movie Maker should
re-establish the links. If this fails...you will
have to re-import the source files.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
