Save settings

Just re-installed Windows XP Home Edition on my second PC because of a
virus. The problem I'm have is Windows will not save any changes made when
re-starting the computer.

For example, IE7 when it starts up it is minimized. when you maximize IE7
close and re-start it all is well. But if you re-boot your PC it will revert
back to starting minimized.

Is there a fix for this????

Instead of Maximizing it, R-click the Taskbar and Pick Cascade windows.
Now close it. See if that sticks through a log off log on cycle.

One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking" when you
reboot. These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea
Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee
VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

To configure IE to open a maximized window by default: Start > (All)
Programs > right-click on IE > Properties > Run > select Maximized.

To resize (not maximize) a smaller window: Close all but one (IE) window >
"Grab" the opposing corners with your cursor and stretch the window to
desired size (e.g., full-screen) > Close the window. The resized window
must be the last one closed for the size to be remembered.

Launch IE. Resize the window by dragging the window to the size you want it
(Do not just maximize). Once it is the size you want close the window by
holding down the Shift key and click the "x" to close the window.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I tried al suggestions and sorry to say
none has worked.

Some setting appear to be save on reboot. But the one that are not save and
most noticeable are re-sized windows and columns.

In control panel---folder options---View tab do you have 'remember each
folders view settings' checked?

When you open it after a Reboot, r-click the button on the Taskbar,
please list the available options on the menu. (Only the Black not
grayed out)
