hi,

i have win xp home-edition servicepack2 installed and frontpage 2003
(incl servicepack).

my problem: if i click file > open website (on a webserver). i have to
put in my username and my password. under the password-field there is
in win2000 a checkbox called "save password", that i don't need to
type in the password again if i enter the website.

in win2000 there is a checkbox called "save password". why is it
missing in win xp home?? how can i get the checkbox there? shold i
edit sth in the registry or is there another possibility??

please help me! thank you!

i hope, you've understood me. i'm german and tried to explain my
probelm in english ;-)

hallo,

bitte helft mir! danke!!!

Passwords used by FP are "stored" using IE
In IE use Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on 'Trusted' and on 'Custom Level'
Make sure the selection at the bottom is set to:
'Automatic logon with current username and password' and click OK
Click on 'Sites' and add your site URL in the 'Add this Web Site to the Zone', and OK, OK
- note: you may have to unselect the option: Require server verification (https)... to add your site

In Internet Explorer:
Tools->Content Tab
Click Auto-Complete button
Check the boxes: "Usernames and passwords on forms"
and "Prompt me to save passwords"

Note that I had the same problem with XP Home, and the only solution I
found was an upgrade to XP Pro.

FYI: I never had any problems with login info being saved under Windows XP Home.

This problem only affected one of my machines - others running XP Home
were not affected.
