save calander and contacts for use on other computer

Cannot save outlook to external drive and retrieve information on another
computer. When I open it on another computer, no information is displayed.

How are you saving it? Is Outlook completely closed (use Task Manager to
ensure it is)? What happens if you copy the .pst file with Outlook closed
and simply open it on the other computer?

Details are appreciated.
