Save As Web Page

When I select File|Save as Web Page the resultant webpage
version of my workbook includes everything in it. I have
set print areas for each worksheet and so of course when i
print to my printer only the print area is actually
printed. I have various parts of the workbook that I don't
want others to see, so is it possible to save as a webpage
the same output as I get when I print to printer?

I've tried using Report Manager to do this but it only
alows you to print to a printer - here is no option within
Report Manager to save as a webpage.

Also, within the Save as webpage dialog, if you
choose "Publish" it is possible to specify a range of
cells and handily Excel remembers them each time to re-
publish, but if you add for example more rows to the
worksheet you always have to remember to manually extend
your range of cells before clicking "Publish".

The easiest way would be to have the webpage just show
(like "print") the same area as your print area, because
the print area does automatically extend if you for
example add more rows.

Any ideas - mucho gracias.

Hi Simon

one option - and i could only test this if i didn't add interactivity as
that's not working for me :( is to make your ranges dynamic, this way they
will resize automatically as you add new records and when you update the web
page the new rows will be automatically included
to learn how to make a range dynamic check out

Hope this helps

Thanks Julie, it was good og you to reply.

It seems then i can't do what I want easily so I guess
I'll just have to have the webpage show everything in my
workbook - otherwise there's too much to remember to do
each time! It's a pity microsoft can't offer a save to
webpage with the same print area as when you print to
printer, or even allow Report manager to save as a webpage
with one's settings as in Report Manager.

Hi Simon

as far as i can see - once you've created the dynamic ranges there's nothing
else for you to do ... the ranges will resize automatically and will resave
themselves with the new records when you update the web page.
