save a file with author's name

how do i save a file so that my name appears as the author in the file's
property?

Hi,

If you are using Office 2007 when you click on "Save As" you should see a
little text box at the bottom that says "Authors." just type in your name and
you should be good to go!

sorry that i didn't get back to you before now. i am using 2007 but don't
see the text box at the bottom that says "authors".
 
Author should be automatically added when you save.

If not, go to Button>Prepare?Properties and enter under "Author".

Then save.
