I am debating whether to upgrade to a SATA hard drive on my win2000 comp.

Previously I used a SCSI drive and it would not let me use standby or
hibernation ( I guess)because it went thru a PCI controller card.

Has anyone used a SATA hard drive with a controller card and been able to
get hibernation / standby working in win2000?

the motherboard BIOS provides that all important ability at boottime.
the "SATA adapter" would have to be bootable and would likely suffer the
same issues as the SCSI did. Suggest a "SATA" motherboard if you want
the standby/hibernate ability.

About what I figured, Thanks
