I have an ASUS P4C800 Dlx ( chipset 875P ) with 1 SATA SEAGATE 120Gb (...26AS) NON-RAID.

When plugged on PROMISE port the windows XP shows as SCSI UDMA-6 IDE-SATA....but when plugged on INTEL ICH5, windows reports IDE - UDMA-5

Why ????

Thank´s to answer Bobs, but my mobo is new......Asus launch at 2003.....P4C800 DELUX

This MOBO have 2 IDE=100mbs + 2 SATA on PROMISE CHIPSET ( this shows UDMA-6 on Win XP ) + 2 SATA on INTEL 875P CHIPSET ( ICH5 - shows UDMA-5

Strange is INTEL to report on site your chipset as UDMA-6....Seagate reports on site your HDD as SATA-150....Asus reports as Windows XP bug

Using AIDA32 on promise I have UDMA-6....on Intel I have UDMA-
