Hi all just occured to me that some of the hard drives I am going to use for my new pc I think might be SATA1.

The board is SATA2 sockets I know it will work. But I will see a performance degradation.

The question is how will I know if it is a SATA1 drive?

(Do they have SATA1 or SATA2 written on them?)

SATA1 HDD supports upto 150GB/S and SATA2 is upto 300GB/s. So if you buy a new HDD put your O/S and games on that and use the slower ones for music, films etc.

Cheers I will do that
I'll have to check to see which drives I currently got that are SATA 2.
