Sasser Virus Removal

I have the Sasser virus on my PC. I printed the steps for
removal from the Microsoft website, however, my computer
conintually re-boots before I can even click on
the "Start" button to begin the reboot command (Start-Run-
"CMD"-"shutdown.exe -a")stop the reboot. Attempting to
log in using Safe Mode causes the PC to automatically
reboot. Is there any method for accessing a MS/DOS prompt
without logging into Windows? Any other recommendations
would be appreciated. Thanks

Never had the sasser virus (never had any viruses at all, but then I'm totally paranoid). Try booting with the original XP cd and select R for repair when you get to the prompt. I have no idea what the procedure is for removing this, but you can do file deletes and edits from the Repair screen. Careful. If you aren't sure what you're doing, you're better off letting someone who has experience do this
