I recently purchased and installed a new USB printer (HP
PSC 1300 series) and a safely remove hardware prompt is
constantly on my system tray. How do I remove the
prompt, as I want to keep my printer?

HIDE it. Right-click an open area of the taskbar|PROPERTIES|CUSTOMIZE.

You can hide that icon. R-click the taskbar, choose properties, click the
Customize button. Where it says Safely Remove Hardware, to the right, click
where it says either Always Show or Hide when inactive. There will be a
dropdown list, choose Always hide. Click OK, click Apply, click OK.

Hi

Pls don't border with the icon, other USB devices may need it for safely remove, e.g. ext. HDD, USD Fash drive, digi Cam, web cam, card reader, etc
