I though F8 during boot-up would lead me to Safe Mode.
It doesm't. Would somebody please advise, and thank you.

Pressing F8 should bring up a menu to select safe mode. Its possible that
for some reason Legacy USB isn't enabled in the BIOS, and you might have to
use a PS/2 keyboard...

Thank you, Andrew. F8 plus a couple of runarounds finally
led me to Safe Mode.

By runarounds, do you mean run around the room or run around the house??

Hi William,

If it continues to be elusive, next time start/run msconfig, and enable the
/safeboot option on the boot.ini tab. You will need to reverse it to boot
back to normal mode.

Thank you, Rick... I'll file that message for use next
time it eludes me.

Don't know why, but on my computer F5 takes me to safe mode. Hope it works
for you.
