Safe mode?

Hi,
I would like to run spyware in safe mode,how do I access safe mode on
windows xp?I did a search on computer(dell help desk)but the instructions do
not seem to be for windows xp.all help appreciated,

Restart your computer.
As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating
systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.


Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and
then press ENTER.

Reboot the computer. When the initial BIOS screen goes to black tap the
F8 key repeatedly until you get the safe mode menu. Highlight safe mode
and hit enter.

After the BIOS load screen (this is the screen that says "Dell" right after
you turn on your computer), start pressing F8. You will then be prompted
with a menu with a bunch of options, "Safe Mode" should be the first option.
