S/MIME - p7s versus p7m

How to configure Outlook to generate signed message with
the p7s format instead of p7m.

By using p7m, only S/MIME mail handler can read it, which
is not fair since the mail is only digitaly signed and not
encrypted and must be readable by all.

p7s should be the most commonly used format for Signed
mail, this is even part of the RFC. (
