Runtime Error

I get the following error at ramdom with IE6

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate
it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's
support team for more information.

IE then shuts down.

Any ideas?

Hey Chet, have you found the solution for this? I have it too, but only on
one computer. My laptop has no problem like this. I have gone through almost
everything, even setting them up the same, but I still get it, but only on
some websites. I have spent hours reading on the support pages, but can't fix
it. Any help would be Great! KarinK

Hi,
This is sometimes caused by the CommonNames parasite. See:

Or this could be caused by another parasite. Try CWShredder, Ad-aware and
Spybot.

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, toolbars,
security, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at any program that might be
interacting with IE. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

Another possibility:
From Internet Options> Advanced, if you have Sun Java and microsoft VM
(virtual machine) uncheck Sun Java.
