Running XP without a keyboard

I am setting up several touchscreen stations with magnetic card readers that
plug into the keyboard PS2 port. They have a pigtail on them to then connect
a keyboard. The problem is that XP will not enable the keyboard port unless a
valid device is attached and I'd prefer not to keep a keyboard hidden under
the counter so the magnetic card reader will work. Is there any way to tell
XP to ignore the fact that a keyboard is not attached and go ahead and load
the keyboard drivers and enable the port anyway?

PS/2 connectors are not designed for this mode of operation.
Use a USB keyboard instead. By the way - use cross-posting
when posting in several newsgroups - it avoids respondents
