Hi,
I have two PCs, one with vista ultimate and one with xp pro ps2. I'd
like to run freecell (vista version) on the xp pc. I tried to copy the
freecell folder and all the libaries needed (I used an ldd port to see
what's needed) but the program exits with an execution error (I don't
know the exact english error message as the OS is the Italian
version). Is it possible to do something except to connect using RDP
and play remotely ?

thanks

thl

Apps native to Vista (compiled for that O/S) have a different header in the
..exe file than previous versions of Windows. Microsoft made changes to the
header to make it more resistant to tampering by viruses. Because of this,
previous versions of Windows will not recognize Vista apps as being
executible files. Nothing you can do about this, sorry.
Maybe (unlikely), Microsoft will release a patch (SP3?) for XP that gives it
Vista-App execution ability, but don't hold your breath.

I'd like to do just the opposite. How do you reinstall the XP version on a
machine running Vista?

I copied the following two files (Freecell.exe and card.dll) from my XP
machine to my Vista computer. Works Great.
