Granted my computer is about 5 years old, however,
everything runs fine with the exception of my Internet.
It's not the connection either, we are running on high-
speed cable Internet. The pages download slowly only on
my computer, and the typing of web addresses, search
fields, and email is so delayed it's almost not worth
trying. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Even if you have a high speed cable internet, your RAM
may not be able to handle it. I had the same problem.
64mb was not enough even though the provider said it
would be.

Great question. Sounds exactly like the problem I have had with my older computer for months now. Have you run SpyBot and AdAware on your system? They take care of corruptions from internet websites that can slow down your internet explorer. Of course, I've already done this, and redo them every week or so. Sometimes my computer (Dell Dimension XPS T600r running Windows 98se) runs internet fine. So when it does, I just dont turn it off. I'll leave it on for days just so that maybe it wont go back to slowness - but then it always does. Even when you type something into the browsing address window, it's a delay of several seconds as each letter slowly shows up one after another. Then when you hit "go" absolutely nothing happens. For even a minute sometimes, and then it just decides to finally go there, lightning fast. I don't get it.
