Running scans breaks internet connection

Every time scans are run the internet connection is broken (cable ISP). I
have switched off scheduled scans, and do them manually now. It still
involves me either hitting the "Try again" button for internet access when
this box comes up, or having to do a reboot. Minor annoyance, but adding
unnecessary wear and tear. Any fix?

Personally have not heard this one yet, but it is better to disconnect from
the internet before doing a scan
