Running processes in background.

Hey guys
I was wondering if anyone could help me customize windows so that when I
boot up there isnt anything unnecessary in the background.
Im just trying to maximize my computers performance potential so after I
format my HD ill have aeverything tip-top.

Sure. Start->Run and type MSCONFIG. when that comes up, go to the Startup
tab and uncheck what you don't want running. You may also have to go to the
Services applet (Start->Run "services.msc") and take a look at various
services that might also be started that you don't want. Be VERY careful
with this though as you can make mistakes that will bite you later.
