Running Outlook as a background process

I have found several tips on how to get Outlook to stop running in the
background for one reason or another, but I would actually like to find a way
to GET outlook to run in the background so that it does not loose it's
functionality as soon as I close it's main window (And I really don't want
the minimized box taking up space on my taskbar although I have no problem
with in in my notification area). Any help?

If you want to run Outlook in the "backround" it must run as a Windows
service but you can not run Outlook as a Windows service. Exchange server
run as a windows service but not Outlook. Sorry.

If you're using Outlook 2002 or 2003, you can enable the option to place it
in the system tray when you minimize it.
