Running another application on a general server

I am trying to use the runapp command to open a file on a
general server but i cannot get it to work. I can open the
application easily enough as that is on my C:\ drive. The
report i want to run from this application is mapped to my
N:\ drive. i have tried using this as the start of my
command line. i have also tried using the command that i
would use in the run task on the start menu which starts
with \\Server Name and this does not seem to work either.
Can Access run applications from a general server and if
so, how?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Same here! I want to run the file from a text field. in
this case, the field is called [file path]. That way,
it'll run the associated application. I can't get it to
work though. Any ideas would help! I'm using SQL 2000.

Lindsey,

Try the equivalent of...
"C:\PathToWord\Winword.exe" "F:\YourFolder\YourDoc.doc"

Craig,

Are you getting an error message? What does it say?

Steve,

I am using the path

\\Bsercara\Payroll\Systems Team\Job Log\All Jobs.imr

The error says 'Systems Team Job Log can't invoke the
application using the RunApp action. The path to the
application is invalid, or a component of the application
is missing. Check the path in Windows Explorer or File
Manager'

I have also tried the path

N:\Systems Team\Job Log\All Jobs.imr

Both paths work in the run command from the Start Menu.

Thanks for you help.

Craig
