Hello everyone
I am having trouble running 16 bit programs, I keep receiving error messages
saying that the file cannot be found or a component is missing and to check
all required libraries are available. What is causing this please anybody.
Thanks a lot in advance of your help.

Have you checked if the program is compatible with XP? Does the publisher
have an update? Have you tried the compatibility wizard?

You don't tell us what the program is or what the errors are so it's pretty
hard to help you! :)

Hi Lorne
Sorry for the lack of info. I downloaded two programs from the www.aumha.org
website that would allow me to test some sticks of memory I have installed
in a Windows 98 PC. I got two versions for 98 and XP but both give me the
same error message. I tried to screen capture the message but that does not
seem to work either!! The message basically says the file cannot be found
and to check the path and filename are correct and all required libraries
are available. Thanks again.

At this point it might be an idea to run the system file checker... Open a
command prompt (Start -> Run - type CMD and hit enter). Type in SFC
/SCANNOW (note the space after SFC) and hit enter. You'll need your XP disc
handy.

This will check all your system files and replace any which are different
from proper MS versions....
