Runner Error message

On boot up I get an error message. Runner Error: Runner file name(updates
from HP.ex.) lacks a '_' (the
application id separator)

Can you tell me what this is, what is causing it and how to fix it?

thanks

Apparently the "Updates from HP" file is damaged. If you don't have an HP
computer, most probably the "Updates from HP" was installed and put into
Startup by HP printer software. You don't need to have this running at
Startup so remove it using msconfig.

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab and
find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK
out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll
get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in
effect, "don't bother me about this again".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes.
Instead, use Start>Run>services.msc [enter] and do not stop any services
unless you really, really know what you're doing.

Yes. It is very rare that you would want to update your printer drivers if
everything is working and I have always found "HP Updates" not useful and
one more piece of bloat to slow down your machine.
