We had trouble with pop ups and a "trojan" virus. Trying
to remove the virus using Symantec we found a link to
remove "adware" which claimed to be a cure. After
following the instructions we now have problems, these
include a very slow start up of the first programme after
logging on and when we log off the we get a
message "Rundll32.exe not responding".

Should we remove the rundll32.exe file ??????

Any suggestions

No, don't do that -- this is an important file. Try another virus scanner
(give http://housecall.antivirus.com a try), and run Ad-Aware (the dash is
very important) and Spybot Search and Destroy to clean up any mal-ware being
run.

Since Run32dll.exe is involved, I'd also run defrag, just to make sure that
the file has reasonable integrity.
