RUNDLL error

V

I recently installed the free beta version of microsoft
antispyware. I ran the scan and removed all the things
it advised me to and now every time i start up my
computer I get the following error:

RUNDLL
Error loading
C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL
the specified module could not be found

there is only an OK button and when I push it the error
box goes away and I can use my computer. I can't see any
way it has affected my computer other than I get the
error every time I boot up. What is this and how can I
fix it? Thanks in advance for any input.

Your error message results because the file newdot~2.dll has been deleted
but the instruction in start-up processing to load it has not. I count that
as a minor weakness in MSAS. The solution is to find the entry and delete
it, usually by running msconfig.exe.
Go to Start|Run
Enter msconfig and click on the OK button.
Look at the Startup tab, you will find a list of items, you are looking for
one that has rundll and newdot~2 in it under the second column. (You can
resize the columns by dragging or double-clicking the separators in the
header).
Click to remove the tick from the line, this instruction will no longer be
executed when the system starts up.
Close Msconfig, accepting any prompts to save changes you might get and
restart the system.

The important part of this information is also given on the page at url (may
split at the -)

Although it says stuff about power management as well, which is not
something that relates to your particular problem.
