runas.exe /savecred Issue

Hi All,

XP Professional

I've been using runas for some desktop shortcuts. Mostly VB apps. This has
been working great for a couple weeks now except lately one user has been
getting prompted for the Administrator password when trying to launch the
mentioned VB app.

Nobody else is having the problem.

The PC's were set up at the same time and all apps were set to runas
Adminstator. I put in the passwords myself when launching the app for the
first time. Nobody else has experienced any problems except this one user.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

He (or she) would not by chance changed the admin password
would they ?? Before you say "no", check that machine and
make sure the admin password still works on it.

sorry but i hope you know runas /savecred is huge security hole because the
saved credentials can be used
to run *anything*, not just the original command line / shortcut.
Try the tool runasspc. It is a runas tool where the credentials for one
application are saved in one encrypt file.
You find it on
