Run time error 430

Access 2002, receive a message "Class does not support automation". The same
file has been working (i.e. opening without message) until now?? I think it
has to do with the switchboard I've created, but again, no changes were made
to that recently.
Any suggestions welcome.
 
Try to perform "Compact and Repair Databse..." which is in Tools->Database
Utilities and run the program again.

but afraid that did not work. It seems to be a problem with the switchboard
manager. For example if I open Northwind it is fine (but that uses a form
when opening rather than using switchboard manager). As soon as I add a
switchboard using the manager and try to open it I get this error message.
